Tell us about yourself.
Hey! name is Ori Paul Levi (Oriocreams) I’m a visual artist based in Los-Angeles, CA.
Where did your passion for art begin?
At a pretty young age, maybe 5 or 6. As a kid I used to love playing with my parents cameras.
I recall being obsessed with figuring out lighting and composition, and I’d spend hours creating all sorts of weird displays of my toys of which I of course took pictures of - Been making other weird displays of things ever since.
How would you describe your work to someone?
Queer, Hot, Rebellious.
What are you currently working on?
A couple of really cool collaborations, a solo show and more collages.
When you start a new work or project, do you plan what you’re going to create or do you improvise?
I’m not much of a planner. I find that fluidity and improvisation are a key part of who I am as a person, and are essential to my process. I build around an image or subject, and create a world from there.

Can you highlight some of your influences and discuss how your influences have made an impact on you and your practice?
I’m a huge fan of Tom of Finland, Bob Mizer, Robert Mapplethorpe, Don Whiteman. I admire the bravery they had when they set out to create homoerotic content, at a time when homosexuality wasn’t as widely accepted as it is today.

What are your plans for the remainder of this year?
To continue to create art that celebrates individuality, openness and beauty.
